Here are some pictures of the house-building process, as well as some general pics from BV.

5/16/09 - Kristin in South Main, BV

5/16/09 - Arkansas river, South Main, BV

7/7/09 - The view of Mt. Princeton from our apartment, evening.

7/30/09 - Excavation of the house begun

8/13/09 - Excavation for the house complete, footers formed.  Sewer is stubbed in, and water is hooked up.

8/13/09 - Footers poured

8/18/09 - Adam and I putting up Arxx blocks.

8/18/09 - The blocks take up a lot of room...

8/21/09 - Alexis playing in Cottonwood Creek at the park, downtown BV

8/22/09 - Foundation walls poured.  (Can you spot the home-built porta-potty?)

8/26/09 - Alexis' first day of pre-school (note the deer in the background).  Deer are like tourist attractions in BV.  I've seen up to about 20.

8/26/09 - The Global Garage and Cafe.  That's where Kristin is working.

8/28/09 - Waterproofing done, starting on the house partial backfill.

8/28/09 - Most of the basement plumbing

8/30/09 - My tool shed, warehouse, etc., etc.  It's pretty packed.  I can't wait until my garage is dried in!

8/30/09 - The crux of the sub-slab foamboard insulation.

8/30/09 - The radiant tubing that will heat the basement.

9/3/09 - Pumping concrete into the basement for the slab.  The slab ended up a bit deeper than it needed to be.

9/3/09 - The garage footers, right before pouring them.

9/3/09 - Concrete crew to do the slab.  Slabs are one of the few things I don't attempt to do (screw up).

9/25/09 - Brian, psuedo-stucco master.

The first snow on the mountains.

10/04/09 - About half of the joists in place.

10/04/09 - Kristin put a coat of clear deck oil on the beams to hopefully keep them from staining or substantially cracking.

A close look at the stucco on the Southern office window.

Looking into the family room from the office.

10/07/09 - Kristin helping out with power tools.

Preparing the last three I-joists.  Dick working the dirt in the background.

Subfloor komplett!

Looking out the living room.

First wall section going up.

Looking down towards Salida and Poncha Springs.

Back wall done.  (Except for the part where I had to fix the height of the MBR window to meet egress requirements.)

BROs

Two walls done..

The front of the house.  Oh, she's so beautiful!  (It doesn't look like much now, but it will be nice, just wait...)

The rear of the house.

Interior framing almost done.

Sunday morning.  It's way colder than it looks...

This is like a new kind of fun...

GRRRRRRR

Knee-high to a bimmer.

Kind of like a forest during a snowfall...
